2023 Toyota Hyryder Hybrid Prices Increased By Rs 50,000

Japanese automaker Toyota Kirloskar Motors has quietly hiked the prices of its Urban Cruiser strong-hybrid variants. The SUV’s prices have increased by Rs 50,000 across the range. Interestingly, there is no hike for the non-hybrid trims. We take a closer look at the change in prices.

Since its launch last year, this is the first time that the prices have been increased for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The strong-hybrid variants now get a hike of Rs 50,000. Prices of this SUV start from Rs 15.61 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level S variant, going up to Rs 19.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top end V model.

While prices for the non-hybrid Hyrder trims stay the same, ranging from Rs 10.48 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). 

2023 Toyota Hyryder Hybrid: Powertrain Details

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first midsize SUV in India to be offered with a strong-hybrid powertrain. It uses Toyota’s 1.5-litre TNGA Atkinson Cycle motor that is mated to an electric motor. Combined, it produces 92 bhp of power with 122 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty here is carried out by an eCVT gearbox. The brand claims a fuel economy figure of 29.97 kmpl, the highest in the segment.

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder competes in the midsize SUV segment, arguably the most crowded and rapidly growing vehicle category in India. Toyota’s offering rivals the likes of the MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier, Maruti Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, and the Škoda Kushaq.
