Maruti Brezza facelift to get six-speed manual gearbox Grand Vitara facelift to share features with the Maruti Victoris
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to give major upgrades to its two popular and top-selling SUVs, the Brezza and Grand Vitara. In fact, the Brezza facelift has already been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. Both SUVs will receive cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features.
The Maruti Brezza facelift will be the brand’s first petrol model to get a six-speed manual gearbox. This has been confirmed by multiple interior spy shots. The SUV will continue to be powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a mild-hybrid tech. Another big update will come in the form of underbody CNG tank, which we have earlier seen on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
The SUV will be equipped with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV could get new interior scheme and upholstery for seats along with an updated digital instrument console. MSIL could add a new audio system and ventilated front seats. In terms of styling, the compact SUV could get revised bumpers, a slightly revised grille and new alloy wheels.
The updated Maruti Grand Vitara will share most of its new age features with the Victoris. It misses out on some key features such as ADAS, branded audio system and others. The Grand Vitara facelift is likely to be equipped with LEVEL-2 ADAS tech with features like adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, auto high beam and others. Other big update will come in the form of a powered tailgate with gesture control, a bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
The updated Grand Vitara is likely to get an 8-speaker INIFINITY sound system with Dolby Atmos tech for immersive audio experience. The CNG version will come with the underbody CNG tank, which will free up space in the Grand Vitara and Hyryder’s boot. The SUV will continue to be offered with the existing 1.5L petrol and 1.5L hybrid engine. The petrol version is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic; latter also gets an AWD drivetrain. Similar to the Brezza, the Grand Vitara facelift could also get a six-speed manual gearbox.
