Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is preparing to introduce the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The updated SUV is expected to get visible design changes and feature upgrades, while retaining the existing TSI petrol engines.

A semi-camouflaged test mule of the new Taigun has been spotted on Indian roads. It shows a larger front grille with gloss black elements and a D-shaped silver insert. The SUV also gets redesigned headlamps with a connected LED light bar at the front.
From the side, the facelifted Taigun will feature newly designed alloy wheels and prominent black cladding. At the rear, updated taillamp clusters will give it a fresher look.
No changes are expected to the SUV’s size. Like the current model, the new Taigun will measure 4,221mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,612mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,651mm.
While official details are yet to be revealed, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is likely to receive updates similar to the new Kushaq. These may include a new cabin theme, a panoramic sunroof, a new digital driver’s display, updated infotainment software and rear seats with massage function.
Mechanically, the Taigun facelift will remain unchanged. It will continue with the 1.0L TSI petrol engine producing 115PS and 178Nm, and the 1.5L TSI petrol engine delivering 150PS and 250Nm.
The 1.0L TSI engine may get a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, replacing the current 6-speed automatic. A 6-speed manual will also be on offer. The 1.5L TSI engine will continue to be paired only with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
A small price hike is expected for the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift. The current model is priced between Rs 11.42 lakh and Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom).
