Skoda has recently revealed the new Kushaq facelift, which is set to go on sale by March 2026. Similarly, Volkswagen is also preparing to give a mid-life update to the VW Taigun which is scheduled to be launched in Q2, 2026, between April and June. The new model will receive design and interior changes along with a longer list of features.
The 2026 VW Taigun facelift will receive changes to plastic parts, and there will be no change to sheet metal. The front and rear will be revised with new design elements. It is likely to get a new simpler, rectangular-shaped grille instead of the current honeycomb pattern. The Taigun facelift will have new headlamps, which seem inspired by the all-electric Volkswagen ID 4.
It will have a new lower bumper that houses the newly designed fog lamp housings. The rear will have revised tail-lights and new lower bumper. In profile, the car will remain the same except for the new set of alloy wheels.
The cabin will receive major changes in the form of revised dashboard trims and bigger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Similar to the Skoda Kushaq facelift, the new Taigun will get automatic AC, single-pan sunroof, rear wiper and defogger, rain sensing wipers, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist as standard. The top-spec model will have a panoramic sunroof. It will not receive 360-degree camera and LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
The 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift will continue to be offered with a 1.0L 3-cylinder, turbo petrol and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engines. While the former is good for 113bhp and 178Nm, the 1.5L TSI engine produces 158bhp and 250Nm of torque. The 1.0L turbo unit will get a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox instead of a 6-speed AT. A six-speed manual gearbox will also be offered with the entry-level 1.0L engine. The 1.5L TSI will only be offered with a 7-speed DSG.
