May 2026 see five major car launches in India. Honda to launch updated City and ZR-V on May 22.
The third and fourth months of 2026 have been action-packed for the Indian car market, witnessing the launch of the new Renault Duster, updated Skoda Kushaq and the debut of the VW Taigun and MG Majestor. May is set to maintain this momentum with nearly five major product launches lined up from Honda, Tata, Toyota and MG. Read on to learn more about these upcoming models.
The 2026 Honda City facelift is expected to receive minimal design changes including a slightly revised grille, updated headlamps, bumpers and taillamps and newly-designed alloy wheels. Inside, the sedan might get new features such as a larger and updated touchscreen infotainment, ventilated front seats, new digital driver’s display, a powered driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera. Mechanically, the new City facelift is expected to remain unchanged.
The Honda ZR-V will come to India as a completely built unit (CBU) and serve as a halo product for the brand. It could be offered with a 2.0L, four-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain delivering a maximum power of 180bhp, paired with an eCVT gearbox. As a premium offering, the ZR-V will be packed with several advanced features including ADAS suite.

The Toyota Ebella (a rebadged Maruti eVitara) will be available in three trims – E1, E2 and E3 – along with two battery pack options – a 49kWh (114bhp/189Nm) and 61kWh (174bhp/189Nm). The smaller battery pack will be available with the entry-level 49kWh battery variant, while the E2 and E3 will get the larger 61kWh battery.

The Tata Sierra EV launch is scheduled for Q2, 2026. The electric SUV is expected to share powertrain with the Harrier EV and come packed with features such as a triple screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, drive modes, ADAS and more. A few styling elements will differentiate it from its ICE counterpart, including a closed-off grille, and aero-optimized alloy wheels.
Unveiled in February 2026, the MG Majestor is likely to hit showrooms in May 2026. The lineup comes in four variants – Sharp 4X2 (7-seater), Savvy 4X2 (7-seater), Savvy 4X2 (6-seater) and Savvy 4X4 (7-seater). Under the hood, the SUV features a 2.0L twin turbo diesel engine, producing 215bhp and 478Nm. It gets an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
