Maruti Brezza facelift launching within 2 months Grand Vitara and Brezza to get underbody CNG tank Fronx facelift could get a strong hybrid engine
We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch 9 new cars, including 7 SUVs in the country in the next 3 years. In the current financial year, MSIL will launch the facelifted versions of its existing models, including the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara and the Baleno. In fact, testing of these models has already been commenced. The Brezza facelift will be the next Maruti to launch in our market in the next couple of months.
The updated Brezza will come with cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. The biggest upgrade is the rumoured addition of a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine option alongside the existing 1.5L NA petrol engine. It is expected to pair with a new 6-speed manual gearbox.
The updated model will also come with underbody CNG tank, which will allow MSIL to free up more space in the boot. It will come with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, an updated cabin, and revised front fascia featuring sharper LED signatures.
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to give a mid-life update to its crossover, the Fronx. The updated model will come with revised design and a feature-loaded cabin. It is expected to receive a radar-based ADAS system with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and others.
If reports are to be believed, the Maruti Fronx facelift could debut Maruti’s first locally developed in-house strong hybrid powertrain. This will be a series hybrid engine, where 1.2L 3-cylinder petrol engine will act as a generator. The company is targeting a fuel efficiency of over 35kmpl.
The updated Grand Vitara will be equipped with longer list of features, which are offered with the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. It is likely to receive design changes, including a revised, bolder front grille, tweaked bumpers and new set of alloys. Mechanically, the SUV will carry forward the proven 1.5L mild hybrid and the Toyota-sourced 1.5L strong hybrid setups. The Grand Vitara facelift will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS, powered tailgate, bigger touchscreen and an underbody CNG tank.
