Following up on the Slavia Anniversary Edition, Skoda India has launched the new Kushaq Lava Edition in the country. Available at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the model is the new flagship model on the standard Kushaq. The limited-edition SUV gets minor cosmetic changes to the exterior and interior while also getting some added features.
To differentiate it from the other trim levels, Skoda has given the Kushaq Lava Blue Edition with unique elements like special edition badges on the B-pillar, chrome surrounds on the front grille, chrome garnish on the doors and boot lid, front and rear mudflaps, and puddle lamps that project the brand logo. In addition, the SUV also gets a special Lava Blue colour that most popular on the last gen Skoda Octavia and the Superb.
Moving to the inside, the Kushaq gets new Limited-Edition inscription on the scuff plates and pillows. Except for this the car stays failarly similar and gets a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, cooled seats, auto climate control, and more.
The Kushaq Lava Blue Edition is only offered with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol motor that makes 150 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The powertrain has been recently updated to meet the new RDE (real driving emission) norms and is E20 (20 percent ethanol blend) fuel compliant as well.
The Kushaq Lava Blue Edition is priced at Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual gearbox variant and at Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom) for the automatic gearbox model. The SUV rivals the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, VW Taigun, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the MG Hector.
