2026 Volkswagen Taigun Official Images Released - Production Begins

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited has announced the start of production of the new Volkswagen Taigun at its manufacturing facility in Pune. This is the same production facility that also manufactures the Skoda Kushaq. The updated model comes with revised design and an upgraded cabin with a longer list of features. Prices of the new Taigun will be released on April 9, 2026.

2026 VW Taigun - Top Details

Volkswagen said that the new Taigun comes with an edgy new design with premium features. The SUV comes with a new lighting signature with sleeker LED headlamps and connected trims. It gets a revised lower bumpers, new tail-lights and newly styled alloy wheels. 

Inside the cabin, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun will have a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation, an updated 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Google AI assistant and new upholstery. It is expected to get a panoramic sunroof, and a rear seat massager. It will also get front ventilated seats, and automatic climate control, and a single-pane sunroof as standard. 

For safety and security, the Taigun facelift will get 6 airbags, ESC, hill-hold control, multi-collision braking and rear view camera. It will miss out on LEVEL 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera. 

The Taigun facelift will continue to be offered with a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engines. While the former is good for 115PS and 178Nm, the 1.5L TSI engine produces 150PS and 250Nm of torque. Instead of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, the 1.0L TSI unit will be paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Other transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox with 1.0L unit, and a 7-speed DSG unit with a 1.5L unit.
