Car manufacturers in India has released sales numbers for the month of November 2024. Most of the automakers have posted positive sales growth, showing strong demand for cars in the country. Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota India, Tata Motors and MG reported positive sales growth, while Hyundai India's sales declined marginally. Let's talk in details about the
Maruti Suzuki has reported a cumulative sales of 1,81,531 in the month of November 2024 as against 1,64,439 units in the same month last year, reporting a Year-on-Year growth of 10.39 percent. In the domestic market, MSIL sold 1,41,312 units last month as against 1,34,158 units in the same month last year, registering a YoY growth of 5.33%.
The company has reported an excellent exports growth of 24.76%. It exported 28,633 units in November 2024 as against 22,950 units in the same month last year. Sales to Toyota stands at 8,660 units, which is 80% higher compared to the previous year where MSIL shared 4,822 units. The LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) sales stand at 2,926 units in November 2024, which is again 16.62% higher.
Hyundai is one manufacturer that posted negative YoY sales in November 2024. The company sold a total of 61,252 units last month, reporting a YoY sales decline of 6.91%. In the same month last year, Hyundai's dealer dispatch stands at 65,801 units. In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 48,246 units in November 2024 as against 49,451 units in the same month last year - reporting a YoY sales decline of 2.44%. The exports also declined by 20.45%.
After a decline in sales in October 2024, Tata Motors has finally posted a positive sales growth in the month of November 2024. In the passenger vehicle category, Tata sold a total of 47,117 units in November 2024 as against 46,143 units in the same month last year. The company registers a marginal Year-on-Year (YoY) sales growth of 2%. The EV sales increased by 9%, registering 5202 units sales in November 2024 as against 4,761 units in the same month last year.
The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra has reported a total passenger vehicle sales of 46,222 units in the month of November 2024. The company has reported a Year-on-Year sales growth of 16%; Mahindra had dispatched 39,981 UVs in the same month last year. Not just Passenger vehicle category, the homegrown UV maker has reported positive sales growth in tractor sales and in exports.
Toyota has posted an excellent Year-on-Year sales growth of 48% in the month of November 2024. The company sold 26,323 units last month as against 17,818 units in November last year. Exports in the month of November 2024 stood at 1140 units. In the first eight months of FY 24-25, Toyota achieved a significant milestone of total sales of 2,19,791 units, registering a 34% growth over the 1,63,636 units sold during the same period FY 23-24.
Honda Cars India reported a total sales of 10,726 units in the month of November 2024. Interestingly, the brand's exports account for more than 50% of total sales. The company sold 5,005 units in the domestic market, while exports stand at 5,721 units in the month of November 2024. The company had registered 8,730 units in domestic sales and exported 3,161 units in November 2023.
JSW MG Motor India sold 6019 units in November 2024, registering a growth of 20% over November 2023. The company's EV sales accounted for 70 percent of its total sales last month. The Windsor EV contributed to more than 50% of total sales with 3144 units dispatched to dealerships in November 2024.
