Toyota showcased the Land Cruiser FJ at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 Maruti Suzuki showcased the Victoris Biogas and Fronx FFV Honda confirms 0 Alpha electric SUV for India
The Japan Mobility Show 2025 has witnessed the unveil of several vehicles and technological innovations. The Japanese brands utilised this platform to announce their plans for the fast growing Indian car market. Moreover, multiple utility vehicles are on display for the general public. A wide range of these SUVs will also launch in our market in the next couple of years. In this article, we talk about top 4 India-bound SUVs unveiled at the 2025 Japan Auto Show.

Honda has revealed the new 0 Alpha SUV concept at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, which is the smallest member to the brand’s 0 Series of EVs. The electric SUV will be launched in India in 2027. It will be produced in India for domestic as well as global markets. Based on the brand’s ‘Thin, Light and Wise’ design language, the 0 Alpha has wide and upright stance.
The company has not revealed the interiors and technical details of the Honda 0 Alpha SUV. It will have a wheelbase of around 2,700-2,800mm, which will allow Honda to create more space inside the cabin. The electric SUV will come with two battery pack options, and both will have LFP batteries. It is likely to be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh units.

Toyota has revealed the prototype of its upcoming and smallest member of the Land Cruiser family, called the Land Cruiser FJ. It will mainly target the Asian markets, and its Japan launch is scheduled for mid 2026. This SUV could arrive in our market as a mini Fortuner to challenge the likes of the Mahindra Thar Roxx and Scorpio-N.
The SUV is based on the Fortuner’s IMV platform and measures 4.6 meters in length. The new Toyota FJ Cruiser has a ground clearance of 215.3mm, and has an excellent approach angle of 31 degrees. It will be powered by a 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 163PS and 246Nm of torque. A six-speed ECT gearbox sending the power to all-4 wheels via Toyota’s 4-wheel-drive system.

Suzuki has revealed the new Victoris SUV that runs on biogas at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The new tech is derived from the existing CNG version, but the engine is tuned to run on methane sourced from organic waste. It is equipped with dual cylinders positioned under the floor. The CBG comes from renewable sources and has a lower carbon footprint. MSIL has already confirmed that it will bring biogas powered cars in the country in near future.

Maruti Suzuki has showcased the Fronx FFV concept at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. It comes with an engine that can run E85 petrol, a fuel with 85 percent ethanol content. If reports are to be believed, the Fronx flex fuel could be launched in India sometime in 2026.
