The current-gen Hyundai i20 has been a very popular model for the brand in the Indian market ever since it was launched in 2020. Now, the automaker is gearing up to introduce the facelifted model in the coming months, around the festive seasons. Hyundai has already launched the facelifted i20 in global markets like the UK. We take a closer look.
Changes to the new i20 are purely cosmetic and minimal. The front end gets new headlights with inverted DRLs, tweaked grille, an updated bumper, and new side air intakes. The Hyundai logo has been updated as well and now is a 2D unit instead of the 3D emblem of the current model. Moving to the side, the facelifted Hyundai car remains fairly similar to the outgoing model except for new alloy wheels. At the rear, it features a more angular rear bumper with a contrasting faux diffuser.
Moving inside, the new i20 will retain the current dashboard layout. However, it will likely get new upholstery and features. Key highlights include a new digital instrument console, dual-camera dashcam, ventilated front seats and multi-colour ambient lighting. Hyundai could update the safety features list with six airbags and a 360-degree camera as standard on all variants.

The facelifted i20 will continue with the current powertrain options. This includes a 1.2-litre N/A petrol motor that makes 82 bhp with 115 Nm of peak torque. The other option is a 1-litre turbo-petrol churning out 118 bhp with 172 Nm of max torque. Gearbox choices will include a 6-speed manual, an IVT, and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
Hyundai is expected to launch the i20 facelift sometime around October-September this year, right in the middle of the festive season. In terms of pricing, expect the new i20 to be priced at a slight premium over the current model’s range of Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom) - Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG Hector petrol variants now E20 fuel compatible; 2025 model launched with no price hike, meeting new emission norms and supporting sustainable mobility.
