Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that it will be ramping up production of its SUV line to around 6 lakh units per year in the next 12-15 months. This will help in reducing the massive waiting periods for the Thar, Scorpio N and XUV700.

The brand also stated that it will be investing Rs 7,900 crore over the next three years. The increase in manufacturing capacity is because of the continuing high demand and the long waiting period that its currently models’ demand. The company is also preparing its production line to accommodate upcoming launches like the 5-door Thar and the XUV400 EV. Mahindra will be creating a manufacturing capacity of 15,000 - 17,000 units a month for the XUV400 EV, accounting for up to 20-30% of the company’s total lineup.
