Bookings are now open for the Nissan Magnite Red Edition; Based on the XV trim, the Special Edition gets sporty cosmetic upgrades.
Celebrating the one lakh bookings milestone of the Magnite, Nissan Motors India has announced the launch of a Special Edition variant of its sub-4 meter SUV. Set to launch on the 18th of July 2022, the Nissan Magnite Red Edition is aimed squarely at young car buyers and features a slew of sporty cosmetic changes to enhance the overall appeal of the SUV.
Based on the XV trim, the Red Edition features sporty red accents on the front grille, front bumper cladding, wheel arches and side body cladding. A new ‘Red Edition’ badging sits on the front fender along with sporty graphics running below the window line all the way to the C-pillars. Other prominent cosmetic upgrades include chrome garnish on the rear tailgate and illuminated door scuff plates.
The Special Edition model also gets features like wireless charging, ambient lighting and LED DRLs. In addition, the car also provides an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, shark fin antenna, air purifier and push-button start-stop among others.
Despite being a sporty version of the SUV, it carries no mechanical changes. The four-wheeler will continue to be powered by two engine options, a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor. The former develops 72 bhp while the latter produces 100 bhp of power output. Both engine options are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the X-TRONIC CVT transmission is only available on the higher state of tune. This Magnite Red Edition is expected to be priced Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 more than the standard model.
The Nissan Magnite rivals the likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Honda WR-V in its segment.
