Taigun Facelift Price Likely Above Creta, Seltos - What to Expect

Taigun facelift price may start around Rs 12 lakh Likely costlier than Creta and Seltos Launch on April 9, prices in May

Volkswagen is set to unveil the updated Volkswagen Taigun facelift on April 9, 2026.

The new Taigun is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). While official prices will be revealed later in May, early estimates suggest that the Taigun could be priced slightly higher than before.

Likely Pricier Than Creta and Seltos

The Taigun facelift is expected to carry a higher starting price compared to rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Both the Creta and Seltos currently start at around Rs 10.8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh, making them more accessible for buyers. In comparison, the Taigun facelift is likely to begin closer to Rs 12 lakh, placing it slightly above these competitors at the entry level.

However, the gap is expected to reduce at the top end, where all three SUVs are priced close to Rs 20 lakh.

Why the Higher Price?

The expected price increase comes with several upgrades.

The Taigun facelift may introduce a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre engine, replacing the older transmission. This change is likely to improve driving comfort and refinement.

In addition, the SUV is expected to get premium features like a panoramic sunroof, improved interior tech, and better comfort features. These additions could justify its slightly higher pricing.

What’s New in the Facelift

The updated Taigun is likely to get both design and feature changes.

On the outside, it may feature a refreshed front design with updated LED lighting, a new grille, and revised bumpers. The overall look is expected to feel sharper and more modern.

Inside, the SUV could offer a larger digital display along with features like dual-zone climate control and enhanced comfort options. Some reports also suggest the addition of a rear-seat massage function.

Safety could also see improvements with features like a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems.

Engine and Driving Experience

The Taigun facelift is expected to continue with the same turbo-petrol engine options.

The 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI engines are likely to remain unchanged, but the addition of a new automatic gearbox could make the driving experience smoother.

The Taigun has always been known for its strong performance, and this is expected to remain one of its key strengths.
