• Harrier and Safari to feature red highlights on the grille, brake calipers • Both to offer Tata’s latest 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen • ADAS-tech introduced
Tata Motors has had a busy time at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023, with several new models and concepts being showcased at the event. While the likes of Sierra EV Concept and Avinya EV Concept may be stealing the spotlight, the automaker also showcased the New Red Dark Edition for the Harrier and Safari SUVs with exterior and interior cosmetic updates as well as ADAS tech. We bring you all the latest info on both vehicles right here.

The overall design of the Tata Harrier and Safari remain the same, but there are a few cosmetic changes that are unique to the Red Dark Edition models. The special edition gets a new Oberon Black body colour, Zircon red inserts on the front grille and brake calipers, Daytona Gray front and rear skid plates alongside 18-inch Blackstone alloy wheels.

The interiors of the Red Dark Edition feature a new dual-tone theme. The upholstery, door grab handles, and bits of the centre console are finished in Carnelian Red. The dashboard and the steering wheel get a piano black finish. Features-wise, the special edition SUVs get Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 7-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat with memory function, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 9-speaker audio setup from JBL and more.

Tata has also equipped the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Edition with ADAS features like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert, High Beam Assist, Rear Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and more.
Mechanically, no changes have been made under the hood. The Harrier and Safari Red Dark Edition continue to be powered by a 2-litre turbo diesel motor that pumps out 168 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options here include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-convertor gearbox which are the same as before.

The company confirmed that Tata Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions will arrive in India this year, but did not state an exact date. Expect the special editions to be priced a bit more than the regular versions. Tata Harrier’s current price starts from Rs 14.80 lakh to Rs 22.35 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Safari comes in between the range of Rs 15.45 lakh to Rs 23.76 lakh (ex-showroom).
Upon launch, the Harrier and Safari Red Dark Editions will rival the likes of the New Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Hector Plus, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Alcazar, the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
