Taigun facelift expected at Rs 12-21 lakh Priced higher than rivals at entry level Focus on premium feel and performance
Volkswagen is all set to reveal the updated Volkswagen Taigun facelift on April 9, 2026, with production already in progress at the Chakan plant in Pune.
The new Taigun is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). Some early estimates suggest a starting price closer to Rs 11 lakh, but most reports point towards a slight increase due to new updates. The full price announcement is likely in May 2026.

The facelifted Taigun is expected to get several upgrades, which could push its price higher than before.
One of the biggest changes could be a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre engine, replacing the older transmission. Along with this, the SUV may also offer premium features like a panoramic sunroof, rear-seat massage function, and dual-zone climate control. These additions are expected to justify the price hike.
The Taigun competes with some of the most popular SUVs in India. Models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos start at a lower price range of around Rs 10.8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh, making them more accessible to buyers.
At the same time, the Skoda Kushaq also starts lower, around Rs 10.69 lakh, even though it shares its platform with the Taigun. This makes the Taigun feel slightly more premium within the same group.
Maruti Grand Vitara also offers a competitive starting price and focuses on fuel efficiency, while the Honda Elevate sits in a similar range but with fewer top-end pricing overlaps.
On the more affordable side, the MG Astor remains the most budget-friendly option, starting under Rs 10 lakh.
Overall, the Taigun facelift is expected to be priced higher at the entry level, but its top variants will sit very close to the fully loaded versions of the Creta and Seltos.

The Taigun has always been positioned as a more premium offering in the midsize SUV space. While some rivals focus heavily on features or pricing, the Taigun balances performance, build quality, and driving experience.
With the expected updates, it will continue to target buyers who want a slightly more refined and fun-to-drive SUV, even if it costs a bit more than the competition.
The 2026 update is expected to bring noticeable changes in design, features, and technology.
On the outside, the Taigun may get a refreshed front design with a connected LED light bar and an illuminated logo. New alloy wheels and updated bumpers are also likely.
Inside, the SUV could offer a larger 10.25-inch digital display along with improved comfort features like dual-zone climate control and a rear-seat massage function.
In terms of safety, features like a 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS could also be introduced, although final details are yet to be confirmed.
