The Delhi Auto Expo is coming back early next year as the Bharat Mobility Show. The annual event of the automobile industry is slated to be held from 17th to 22nd January at Bharat Mandapam. OEMs like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Kia, MG, Toyota, BYD, Skoda, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Porsche, and VinFast are on the confirmed list of participants. Let’s take a close look at the showstoppers from India’s top four car manufacturers – Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, and Mahindra.

The Maruti e-Vitara will be the first electric offering from India’s largest passenger carmaker, set to go on sale by March 2025. It will be based on the born-electric Heartect-e platform, which is claimed to offer “the advanced feel of a BEV and the robust nature of an SUV.” The overall length, width, and height of the EV stand at 4275mm, 1800mm, and 1635mm, respectively. Compared to the Creta, the new Maruti electric SUV will have a longer wheelbase measuring 2700mm. It has a ground clearance of 180mm.
The powertrain setup of the Maruti e-Vitara will include two battery options – 49kWh and 61kWh – using LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate). The larger battery pack will also be available with a dual-motor AWD system, called AllGrip-e.
The interior of the e-Vitara looks different from existing Maruti Suzuki cars. It features a floating dual-screen setup (infotainment and instrumentation), a floating center console with a gloss black finish, a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a rotary drive state selector, rectangular AC vents with brushed silver surrounds, semi-leatherette upholstery, physical AC controls, single-zone auto climate control, a wireless phone charger, heated mirrors, and an ADAS suite offering lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

The Hyundai Creta EV will make its global debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January. Its prices will also be announced at the event. Reports suggest that the electric SUV will come with a 45kWh battery pack and an electric motor. The combined power and torque outputs are expected to stand at around 138bhp and 255Nm. The Creta EV range is likely to be around 350km or more.
If true, Hyundai’s EV will have a shorter range than its arch-rival – the Tata Curvv EV, which comes with 45kWh and 55kWh batteries offering ranges of 502km and 585km, respectively. The design and styling of the Hyundai Creta EV will be slightly different from its ICE counterpart, thanks to EV-specific elements. Inside, the electric SUV will feature a new circular 3-spoke steering wheel, seat upholstery with ‘CRETA Electric’ embossing, and a dual-screen setup.

The all-new Sierra SUV will be the showstopper from Tata at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The carmaker has confirmed that it will initially launch with an electric powertrain, followed by an ICE (internal combustion engine) version. Both versions are set to hit roads in 2025. Interestingly, the Tata Sierra EV will be based on the Activ.ev platform, while its ICE counterpart will underpin the ATLAS architecture.
The electric version is likely to be offered with both single-motor and dual-motor configurations, with a range of around 500km on a single charge. The Sierra ICE model will feature the Curvv’s 1.5L Hyperion turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines. Most design elements have been retained from the concept, as revealed in recently leaked images. The SUV has an upright and flatter nose, large air dams, trapezoidal headlamp housings, black C and D-pillars, flared wheel arches, gloss black cladding around the body, roof rails, large rear quarter glass, and full-width LED taillamps.

Mahindra’s first born-electric SUVs – XEV 9e and BE 6e – will make their public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025. The full prices of both EVs will also be announced at the same event. The carmaker has already revealed that the entry-level Pack One variants of the XEV 9e and BE 6e are priced at ₹21.90 lakh and ₹18.90 lakh, respectively.
Based on the INGLO platform, both electric SUVs come with 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack options, BYD blade cell technology (called a “compact three-in-one powertrain”), and an RWD (rear-wheel drive) system only. The Mahindra BE 6e is claimed to have an ARAI-certified range of 535km (with the smaller battery) and 682km (with the larger battery). The Mahindra XEV 9e offers a claimed range of 656km with the larger 79kWh battery and 542km with the 59kWh battery on the MIDC cycle. Mahindra says that the batteries of both EVs can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger.
