Separate strengths in each model, the Dzire in space-efficient design, the sporty character in Swift, and the premium feel in the Baleno, have been found. Here's a closer look at each model's specifications, designs, safety features, and pricing, so prospective buyers can pick the one that best suits them.

These are powered by Maruti Suzuki's efficient 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, though tuned slightly differently. The Dzire's engine produces 80.87 bhp of power and 112 Nm of torque, available with both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox, along with an optional CNG variant for fuel efficiency. The Swift has the same setup but, owing to being smaller, has more agility and delivers up to 80.46 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. If a premium hatchback is in your mind, look no further as the Baleno comes with an upgraded 89 bhp output and 113 Nm torque, slotted under either a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. Baleno's efficient CNG variant also makes it quite attractive for the eco-conscious buyer.
Every model has a unique appeal when it comes to exterior styling. The Dzire has a great sleek look with a chrome-accented grille, and the sunroof is something that is fitted at the factory for the first time in its category. The Swift, on the other hand, is sporty with LED lighting, blacked-out mirrors, and a bold grille for younger buyers who seek an attractive and dynamic product. On the flip side, Baleno means to offer a relatively more premium, expensive look through features like a huge NEXA wavefront grille, 16-inch stylish wheels, and LED headlamps, which are meant for those who say refined look.
In the interior, Dzire, customers enjoy an interior with a 9-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, besides a wireless charging pad. It was designed to be comfortable with rear AC vents and plenty of head and legroom space. The interior of the Swift has an all-black sporty theme. It sports a 9-inch touchscreen, six speakers, automatic AC, and more. This cumulates style with convenience. The Baleno has taken that step a notch higher with its theme of blue and black, offering that premium touch to the dashboard and the flat-bottom steering wheel. Such features as a floating touchscreen, among countless others, make this car increase connectivity and comfort both for the driver and other passengers alike.
Dzire can be considered the safest car with a 5-star Global NCAP rating. It has six airbags and electronic stability control and offers a 360-degree camera as standard on top trims. The Swift also boasts safety, with features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. The Baleno is no different from its siblings, and while on the HEARTECT platform, it boasts up to six airbags, hill-hold assist, and an optional 360-degree camera, all pretty much bang up in terms of today's expectations for this premium hatchback grade.

Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz |
Each model has pricing that reflects its positioning within the Maruti Suzuki lineup and segment. In the Dzire's, there is a price band of Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh ex-showroom. That pits it against sedans like the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.
At Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.45 lakh, Swift will find itself well positioned in the compact hatchback market space, pitting it against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago.
The starting price of the base variant of the Baleno at Rs 6.66 lakh to the high-end variant priced at Rs 9.83 lakh makes it a serious contender against the competition for the premium hatchback space, an area where Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, and Toyota Glanza make for very interesting competitors.
